drive myself crazy. I have looked into the recent deaths of the birds and fish dying off, and I
have found many conclusions that could have drawn this massive kill. I am not denying the end
of the world racing up on us, but however I am saying maybe we are just becoming too hyped about the situation. I am a strong believer of god, and I am as well a college student, so I have a
perspective of not only the belief side of things, but I also have a perspective of the scientific side
of things.
First off, one thing we are all familiar with is the bird flu. The bird flu, more well known as "Influenza" was discovered around 1357 AD. Therefore showing that even in previous times, human had knowledge of a massive bird flu spread. In 1580 AD, the first recorded "influenza pandemic" spread throughout countrys such as Europe, Asia and Africa. I know your wondering what this has to do with the deaths of recent deaths in 2011? As scientists explained in recent news broadcasts, there is no way fireworks or cold could have caused the birds insides to liquefy. However, they haven't yet ruled out disease.
In my most recent findings, I have found that things such as massive bird kill, as well as a large quantity of fish washing up on shores across the world, happens every year. For example,
On April 8th, 2008 it was recorded by Science Daily that more than 15,000 birds died in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was also recorded that the birds died of a disease called Avian Cholera.
As quoted by Science Daily, "Avian cholera is a disease that sweeps through
grebes and other birds on the lake almost every year." Therefore making this kind mass death natural. Another example, was recorded by CBS NEWS January 12th, 2007. They stated that thousands of birds dropped from the sky, in South Western Australia. As well, 5,000 birds were found in West Australia, as well as 750 chickens in Miyazaki and birds found across the world.
As H1N1 also known as swine flu is brought to our attention, it kind of makes you think about
why all these birds really did die. Whether it's 100, 2,000 or even in the millions, birds die in large quantities every year due to disease. If that isn't enough conclusion about birds dying all around the world, you have to also think. Birds also migrate during winter time every year. Making them more vulnerable to disease in warm weather, or even in rare cases cold weather. The fact is, birds do migrate and can catch diseases such as H1N1 and influenza from being around other birds that have it or being bit by bugs who carry it. So lets give another example.
If a bird migrated from Maryland to Brazil, and another bird in Brazil had H1N1, it is a very strong possibility that the bird from Maryland, could catch the disease H1N1.
As far as fish kill goes, in 1976 in the Chesapeake Bay, over 15 million fish died, and in many cases the polution could also have something to do with this massive kill. Did you ever think of the time of year this happens every year? It usually happens from November - May of every year depending on the area of the world. Such disease could also be related to such things as insects. Alot of farmers use pesticides in their crops which usually are usually used between spring and summer. Insects and Animals such as raccoons eat farmers crops and the pesticides don't always kill the animals. If the pesticides do kill an animal, the animal is eaten up naturally by insects which causes the insects to carry disease from animal to animal. Why birds? I don't know. But, I do know that birds carry disease, & some birds eat fish, & as well some birds eat insects. Which bith contain either pollution or disease.
There are many reasons that could be lined up for this massive kill, but I don't think the end of the world is one of them. If it is, then you better be prepared!
